Cecily Strong is the latest actor to leave NBC Saturday Night Live.
Strong’s last show was Saturday night’s show. She played Kimberly Guilfoyle in the upset and other segments, including the ones on “Jewish Elvis” and “Weekend Update.” In the latter, she plays the recurring character Cathy Anne, who is saying “goodbye” because she’s going to jail. She joked that she’ll be fine because she has “friends in her heart who seem to be doing alright” as recently departed actors Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant appear on screen in prison uniforms.
“Everyone has to go to jail at some point, right? Now is my time,” she added. She ends up breaking character a bit: “I’m having a great time here. I’m really lucky that I’ve had some of the best moments of my life in this place and with these people that I love dearly.”
Another clip sees her as a RadioShack employee on her last day on the job. In the skit, Kenan Thompson, who plays her boss, notes that she worked there for “an incredible eight years”. “Well, I’ve been here for 11 years,” she said. “I know, eight of them are unbelievable,” he replied, adding: “Frankly, I don’t think RadioShack could have lasted this long without Cecily. Every time she comes to work, she has A new character, a new accent, or a new impression can surprise you. Her performance is powerful and fun, and reminds you why you love working at RadioShack in the first place.”
host (and Elvis Presley star) Austin Butler then appeared as “Casual Elvis” – jokingly they didn’t have enough money to buy Elvis costumes – and serenaded her with “Blue Christmas”, which she then joined, followed by thompson and the rest saturday night live throw.

In 2012, she appeared on The Sketch Show, which was in its 38th season, executive produced by Lorne Michaels. Over the years, she’s created characters like “the girl you wish you didn’t start talking to at parties” and impersonated celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Meghan Kelly and Liz Cheney.
